I'm having a hard time trying to decide,

between Barackie Jekyll and Mitty Hyde.

I know you didn't know Mrs. Mitty Hyde, but that is an insult to her.

King Obama just brought our country into Socialism with his health care. But it is actually an illegal Taxation. Only congress has the power to lay and collect taxes.

However, now the government can make you buy anything they want you to by calling it a tax.

Dictator Obama said in his speech that anyone who makes less than $250,000 - one-quarter of a million dollars would not see their taxes go up one dime. Any tax!

Sounds like another Unique-Lie to me he has added to his other lies.

On the other hand, Mit is going to repeal it if he is elected president. Another Promise he won't be able to keep.

The Democrats are screaming Racist over Holder being charged with contempt. It has nothing to do with race but the Democrats have to whine about something. Who wants a Democrat in charge again with all this whining they do about racist crap that they invent.

The only people talking about racism is the Democrats.

Time to vote for someone who can straighten out the Bush/Obama "Fast and Furious Spending Spree Recessions and Double Recessions", without wasting time complaining about what was left for them to work with.

Obama = Another 4 years of Recession, Jobless unemployment, and higher Taxation. The Obama Care has already placed the Biggest Tax Hike on the Middle Class which Obama said he would not do.

You complained about having to pay for the poor people's food stamps, taxes, health care, and even their gasoline and cigarettes, but NOW the Middle Class will be paying for all the poor people's health care - Thanks to Dictator Obama and his Obama Health Care.

If you vote for him don't whine when he keeps taking your rights away.

socialism? do you know what socialism is?

socialism would be the government taking over the delivery of medical care goods and services. whatever you find objectionable with obamacare, it is not socialism.

and as for paying for poor people's medical care,

who do you think is paying for it now?

not to defend obama, or the medical care legislation, but reality based criticism would be more effective.

to answer bo's question, neither candidate is appealing to me. they are both fixated on trying to turn me against the other. and i am still pondering exactly where i stand. i am philosophically at odds with the democrats, but disgusted with the republicans. the current diane black ad is a good example of why. her whole purpose and goal is the repeal of "obamacare"? maybe it has escaped her notice that there are issues with health care that need to be addressed. it isn't leadership to only focus on tearing something down. an ad promising tireless efforts to "fix obamacare" would actually make sense and resemble leadership.

I wish that there would be someone in government that has a backbone to repeal the ObamaCare. But there is not. They are too worried about their own hides and can care less about us little people.

Both of the candidates, like all politicians, are liars. They tell you what you want to hear regardless of the topic.

Lazarus, you say you do not oppose the illegal ObamaCare and that something needs to be done to fix the medicare. Well, if the government would stop enrolling all of the illegal aliens and stop giving money to those who are too obese to get out and get a job, then there wouldn't be a medical crisis. But yet, the government seems to be more on the illegal's side then the American people. They provide every hand-out that they can to the illegals. While those of who were born here or those who immigrated here legally get punished.

This country is turning into a socialism society. A big part of socialism is the sharing of wealth; something that the King has been trying to pass.

I listened to an interview with Don Sundquist (former gov.) yesterday and he said it doesn't matter if Obamacare is or is not constitutional he said it's a matter of not having the money to fund it. There is not enough regulations on Obamacare and just like Tenncare in 10 years it will be a train wreck.

And also a new ObamaCare tax (Starting Jan 1, 2013) is the first time the government will apply a 3.8 percent tax on unearned income. This new tax on home sales and unearned income and other Medicare taxes raise taxes more than $210 billion to pay for ObamaCare. And who knows what other taxes are in Obamacare until our government decides to tell us.

Socialism is when the government gives you free health care, rent and the necessities in life then takes it out of your pay or makes you work for them (the gov).

We are forced to get healthcare without a choice and is taken out of your pay without your consent.

Obamacare just raised the deficit another trillion dollars and shorted Entitlement programs by Millions.

Dictator Obama claims there is enough money just in the waste of the entitlement funds to pay for healthcare.

Where was this wasted money when he bankrupted the Government last year and threatened to do way with entitlement programs so he could run the country another 6 months.

It's coming around again in October. Will Obama be able to find wasted money in the entitlement programs to keep the government from shutting down?

Insurance companies will raise your rates up if no one buys their insurance policies. They need that money to build more agencies and investments but file bankruptcy when they get huge claims, sometime just one claim will be denied because they don't have the money to pay it.

Even the doctors I am told, charge more for people who do have insurance to cover the loss of people who don't have insurance.

Then they write it off on their taxes, doubling their payments.

I have never had insurance when I had to go to a doctor. I always paid cash for my doctor bills. Maybe in payments, but I paid my doctor bills.

You have never paid any of my medical bills other than Medicare/medicaid, which you will be entitled to when the time comes.

I take that back, because, Dictator Obama will take those programs away in the future.

With the money that obama has put into and will continue to put into Obama care is the same thing as spending taxpayer money he doesn't have. The cost of living is going up again and the value of the dollar is going down again. You will need more dollars now to buy/pay the same things each month.

Businesses and Corporationa are not going to hire anyone now because they don't know how much it is going to cost them to provide insurance for their employees. Regulation state that if they have 50 or more employees they must provide an insurance policy.

These big businesses will be paying more for insurance (new tax) which they will pass on to their customers. Exactly what the republicans were explaining to the people when they tax the rich. They pay it then charge you for it to reimburse themselves.

We argued about something as simple as the minimum wage being raised. Congress did raise the minimum wage to (I think) $8.00. That has not increased the employment of new workers in any business. In fact they claim the number of jobs provided have been falling short for he last sveral months. ( I wonder why?)

Unemployment has been falling off and so has the new employment. However, food prices keep going up alone with most products and services you need.

Our troops have been overseas thinking they are fighting to Protect America from the enemy and come home to a country who's Attorney General forced gun shops to sell guns to the enemy and could trace them after they were sold. (a ploy to enact new stricter gun control laws in America). They can't even find a job in the ountry they thought they were fighting to protect. Their President has conspired with the ATT Gen to tamper with the investigation by putting a lock on all the incriminating documents that tell the story.

They come home to find out While they were fighting to protect us from the enemy, King Obama has opened the door to the illegal aliens to come to America and get educated at the American people's expense. Obama has allowed the Guns to go to Mexico to the drug lords to use against the people across the border.

Dictator Obama claims he knew nothing about it yet he has put a stop to investigating who and why and how it happened and whose fault was it. If Obama wasn't involved in it before, he is now by shutting down further investigations.

Our own President and Att General aiding and abetting the enemy, not to get into the top secret leaking of information that came from top level offices.

Our Troops must FEEL real proud to have served in our armed forces under the pretense of defending our country from the enemy both foreign and domestic.

Did I mention that King Obama has declared a National Emergency to deal with Russia over uranium residue? He has his hands in enough things without stirring things up with Russia.

Obama just doesn't give a sheet about America nor the people.

The economy is not going to recover until the King's plan is completed. So far, he is about to overwhelm the system so it will totally collapse in on itself. Giving him the chance to rebuild America the way HE wants.

We might as well give up the notion of the America that we currently have. The dreams and days of freedom and rights are disappearing steadily. If the government today is making us purchase health care, with the loop hole that it is considered a "tax". What is next? Will a drug maker line the pockets of Congress so the government will make us buy their brand of medicine as a law? Or that we all have to purchase a newer car that has a GPS system in it? Where will it end?

I heard from both candidates pleading for money, but they did'nt mention my vote. When I lived in Chicago years ago, I heard someone in the office say "every tombstone in Chicago has a I VOTED sticker on it".

Maybe if I answer their mail with my obit, they will take my suggestions seriously.

People who have insurance wont be affected.Lets think about those that dont. They go to the emerency room and we with insurance have been paying for it.Congressman and Senators have been getting it for years. So how can they be against it.IT will pay for itself with more people buying into it now that it is affordable. It wont be free.I am in the healthcare field and Iknow it is going to help our hospitals.People are against it because of ignorance about the bill.Every ones premiums will go up 7%. So guess what it went up 9% last year without this bill.Romney will say anything his rich backers tell him to say.He even forgets what he says from one day to the next and contradicts his self. The only way he can win is by trying to buy his way and voter suppression

If nothing else, the responses on here provide a clear idea of why neither candidate is appealing to anyone. At least those people most vocal and seemingly most invested in the political process demonstrate no interest in an appeal to a logical and well informed electorate. What they want is invective and slogans, catchphrases and scapegoats.

What is most disturbing to a thinking conservative is the absence of any consistent political philosophy. We have a candidate railing against a health care plan which is largely copied from his own plan. After decrying the lack of personal responsibility, the same people are howling in outrage, even went to the supreme court, attempting to dismantle the requirement for personal responsibility. One moment the Bill of Rights is sacred, and we are inundated with legislation seeking to codify the right to carry guns in each and every specific public place; the next moment the Bill of Rights is trivial, and they are pushing legislation to attack unpopular religions. One moment property rights are paramount; the next moment there is a push for legislation forcing me to allow people to bring firearms onto my property. One moment we are all about local control; the next moment legislation is pushed through to over-ride local legislation. One moment large government is the enemy; and the next moment they are trying to expand the control of government over every nook and cranny of my personal life. These are difficult days for thinking conservatives.

Of course, they are trying to attract voters with no clear political philosophy of their own. The term socialism has been repeatedly invoked on here, thrown about like a curse word, altho with what appears to be little or no clue what socialism really is. I seem to recall, and not very long ago, when these same people fought a bitter and ugly political battle to preserve socialism. That is right. You people *ARE* socialists. Your local government was providing a service which is provided by private enterprise in most places. Not only that, the government was taxing individuals and especially businesses which received no benefit from these services, and using that tax money to provide a service for a select group of deadbeats. Taxing everyone, in order for the government to own and operate the means of providing a good or service to a few; this is textbook socialism. It could easily be depicted as a "redistribution of wealth." On top of that, there were private businesses lined up and anxious to provide the same service, and probably at a lower cost. But the socialists of Shelbyville beat the suggestion down.

i would love to have a candidate appeal to me with a positive message, and a clear political vision. But who would vote for a candidate like that?

Once again I am left with the choice of the lesser of two evils.

One known rotten apple, and one that is most likely rotten, perhaps even more so than the first.

Appeal? A peel, that just about covers it.

Political discussion today sounds a lot like long ago broadcast from Germany. Marxism, naziism, communism, socialism and progressives are direct synonyms.

Here are some planks of the Nazi socialist, adopted in Munich on February 24, 1920:

"We ask that the government undertake the obligation above all of providing citizens with

adequate opportunity for employment and earning a living... We demand profit sharing in big business. The government must provide an all-around enlargement of our system of public education. We demand the education at government expense of gifted children of poor parents. The government must undertake the improvement of public health... permanent recovery of our people can only proceed from within on the foundation of The Common Good Before the Individual Good".

Read the Declaration of Independence! That will help you understand what the British was doing here that our forefathers did not like to the point that congress declared war with the English Government and the King.

After reading it you will see that our Federal Government has been doing the exact same things to us.

The 13th Amendment freed the slaves then the 14th Amendment put them back in slavery under the Federal and State Governments.

The 14th Amendment applies to 14th Amendment Citizens (Not to the People of the states). They were given Civil Rights where as we the People are the Sovereignty and have inalienable rights not civil rights.

Inalienable rights came from our Creator and can not be taken away, but Civil rights were given by the government and can be taken away.

People for some strange reason think they are under the jurisdiction of the Federal government because of the 14th Amendment. Not true! The 14th Amendment doesn't give the President to control the People of the states, only 14th Amendment Citizens who came to our country and became citizen under our Federal Government.

The Federal Government never had citizens under its jurisdiction until the 14th Amendment place the slaves and citizens of the territories under its jurisdiction.

Every since then, the Federal Government has tricked you into thinking it had complete jurisdiction over you. It created more and more agencies to control the people. Now I think it's too late for the people.

Today it is every man for themselves when it comes to who controls you. If you don't know your Constitutional Rights, You won't get any from the Governments because they want to rule you.

Just for the record:

Ignorance of the law is no excuse!

But that is not all of it. It goes on to say...

The Supreme Court emphasized that a reasonably competent public official should know the law governing his conduct and ruled that victims can hold almost all public administrators personally liable for conduct that violates clearly established ... "constitutional rights of which a reasonable person would have known".

Harlow v. Fitzgerald, 457 U.S. 800 at 818 (1982).

So here we see that this Quote that the courts use against us is actually a Law that WARNS Public Servants and Public Officials that they can be held accountable for violating our rights. This reassurance was stated by the Supreme court in 1982.

So Now this "Famous Quote" or the law appears to be saying:

"ALL PERSONS ARE PRESUMED TO KNOW THE LAW. IF ANY "Government employee or official"

The Federal Government Knows it must not violate any ones constitutional rights, so they will put the blame on the individual employee or official without giving any immunity by the government from prosecution.

Just one example of how the government twists the law around for their benefit.

"No white person born within the limits of the United States and subject to THEIR jurisdiction... or born without those limits, and subsequently naturalized under THEIR laws, owes his status of citizenship to the recent amendments to the Federal Constitution. The purpose of the 14th Amendment... was to confer the status of citizenship upon a numerous class of persons domiciled within the limits of the United States who could not be brought within operation of the naturalization laws because native born, and whose birth, though native, at the same time left them without citizenship. Such persons were not white persons but in the main were of African blood, who had been held in slavery in this country..."

Van Valkenburg v Brown 43 Cal 43. 47 (1872)

I want some one to answer a question concerning the economy If the Bush tax cuts creats jobs where are the jobs? They have had these tax cut for 10 years and the unemployment is 8.2%.When Clinton raised taxes on the rich 20 million jobs were created. Every day you hear the republicans say raising taxes on the rich will hurt job creators. After 10 years of tax breaks we should have lots of jobs.
