A while back, I did a column about all of the days and weeks set aside for different groups, events and observations. Like "National Horseradish Day" or something just as silly. Well, now there's 10 percent of us out there who can celebrate, because today is Left Handers Day!!! From putting up with that twisted old crone of a 1st grade teacher who insisted that my mother and everyone in the family "wrote wrong" to all of you who deal with people who sniff with disdain and say "oh, you're left handed" when you sign a check, this day is for you! "Right handed people operate in the left side of the brain. Left handed people use the right side. Therefore, only left handed people are in their right mind." There's lots of other interesting facts at the above link: For example "Sinistrophobia is the fear of left-handedness." And all this time, I thought it was a lingering dread of Green Lantern's greatest foe... Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |
