While I was on the way to Bell Buckle to attend their monthly meeting Tuesday evening, a familiar sight greeted me about a half mile from the tracks.
As we reported last week, he is making his way across the country to raise awareness about obesity. He came through Shelbyville this weekend and stayed the night in Bell Buckle, sleeping under the pavilion right across from Railroad Square. When I got to City Hall, I told a few folk he was headed their way and Bell Buckle responded with their unique brand of southern hospitality. I'll let Jaybo tell the tale himself when he posts about it on his website, but I'm sure he will relate positive impressions of Bedford County. He should be hanging around Bell Buckle today, so if you see a guy with a big backpack, be sure to stop and say hello. I'm glad that we are treating him right. Thanks for the heads up!
Saw him last week at First Baptist Church. He looked like he was emailing an update.
