So much for my car

I picked a great day to get sick.

After finishing stories for Friday's paper last night, the symptoms kicked in, so I took an Ibuprofen and hit the sack.

However, I felt much worse upon rising this morning, so after I got things done at work, I took the rest of the day off and came home.

Then, a little after 2 p.m., the storm system rolled through Tullahoma.

It started getting wild, so I got off the couch, picked up my Flip video camera and started shooting out my front door.

Here's the last part of the video.

There is a neat hole through my roof too, but the car...ah, it served me well...

Wow! I'm sure it don't feel like luck, but a couple more ft. and the damage could have been you. Bless your heart, I hope insurance plays fair with you.

The insurance company did the right thing, totaling it, and I've good a nice new set of wheels.

Looking back at the video, that WAS a little too close for comfort. But an examination of the rest of the tree next door showed that it could have been much, much worse if more of it came down on my property.
