South bound

My byline will return to the pages of the T-G next week after my wife and I rest, recuperate and recharge.

I've had this trip planned for months, and we had originally looked at going to Charleston, SC while we checked out the fall foliage along the way.

However, the recent cold, wet and downright depressing weather inspired me to alter our destination to the place most likely to have temperatures over 80 degrees and no rain.

That means Florida.

That means Daytona Beach.

My birthday is also Friday, which is an added bonus, don't you think?

I gotta go where its warm.
