"Fresh is Best" or straight from "garden to table" at the peak of freshness always taste so much better. Keeping those nutrients in cooking is important for our bodies and minds!
Our wonderful friend and "Master Gardener" Mark Murphy will be featured on this weeks episode of "Volunteer Gardener". He said one of his topics will be growing grain corn in a 4x4 raised bed which I find interesting because I have had a very small garden this year and actually tested some "red flint corn" in this small space.
The episode airs Thursday night Aug. 10th on NPT (Nashville Public Television), which is channel 8 or PBS for most of us. Phillipe Chadwick is the host of the show and has an extensive knowledge of anything grown. Be sure to tune in even if your not an avid gardener, you will enjoy the wisdom of these two guys!
The episode airs at 7:00 pm and is 90 minutes long.
Mr. Murphy is also one of our "Weed Em' and Reap" members and we always enjoy his company, not to mention his wealth of knowledge when it comes to growing and maintaining anything that has to do with gardening. Every time I'm around this guy I learn something new! I admit, this time being star struck is worth its weight in gold! Good luck Mark I hope the whole world tunes in!
