Meet Rowdy, Misty, Lucy, and Buster. They were all picked up as strays together. These sweet dogs are all Terrier mixes and are approx. 1-2 years old. They are full grown are small/medium in size. As you can tell from the pictures, they will need a good bath and brush. All of these beautiful boys and girls need homes ASAP! Our adoption process is very easy!! The fee for adopting an animal is $65 that includes a $50 refund after the animal is spayed or neutered. Our facility contains an Adoption Room that will allow you and your family to spend quality time to ensure the right pet for you! All animals must leave with a current Rabies Vaccination. The current cost for this is $13.
Come Visit Us! The shelter is now staffed during the day for viewing of animals and for dropping off animals. Give us a call to schedule a time to come in. 205 Lane Parkway Shelbyville, TN 37160 Phone: 931-685-1130 FAX: 931-685-1227 Email: Michael Gregory Brenda Goodrich Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

UPDATE: Misty found a new home yesterday. We still have the other three and numerous other pets in the shelter that are in need of a new home! Call us or come by to see them!
Yeah, I was the one that adopted Misty! =)
She has been a blessing! She is beautiful, sweet, shy, becoming more playful, and is using the bathroom OUTSIDE! She LOVES to be brushed! LoL After her frequent brushing, she prances around the house to make her hair bounce. She is VERY prissy! =) I am going to put bows in her hair later.
She LOVES my boys too. She follows them around the house, and gives them lots of kisses!
Another great thing about Misty is that she never really makes a noise. She barked this morning a couple of times, but thats it. =)
I gave her another bath this morning, and she never tried to escape. She sat there the whole time to let me scrub her. =) As I wright this, she is lieing next to me.
She has a doctor appointment at 2:30 this afternoon to start her shots, and after the Gardening Meeting tonight, I will post to let everyone know what Dr. Stimpson said!
I can't stop smiling knowing that I gave a needy dog a good home!
Misty's Dr. appointment went really well today! She weighs 8.8 pounds, and is healthy other than tape worms.
Both Vets determinded that she is a Yorkie mix. They could not believe that such a good dog came from the AC.
Misty let both Vets see her teeth, and play with her feet and ears with no aggression(sp?)!
She has only had one "accident"in the house, and that was my fault.
I just know that if she is such a good dog, so are her remaining brothers and sister!
we also got a great little dog from ac we got grayson a doxie poo and he is the best he knows so much and is a love!!
jdw931,
How long have you had your dog!? And what is a doxie? LoL That's a new one on me!
actually the vet told me in todays designer dog world he is called a "doodle" he is half long haired doxin aka weiner dog and half poodle! hes great weve had him about a month little over i guess. we are waiting on him to gain some weight to get him neutured but other then that hes a love!! how is your little one?
Aw! We adopted a "weiner dog" mix back in November, but she went to heaven when she was ran over about a month ago. =( I still miss her! She had longer hair, I wonder if they were related? She was about 5 or 6 months old when she passed.
I truely believe that rescued dogs are the best (no offense to breeders). I feel like they appreciate their new homes, and really try their best to please you. They are thankful.
Our little girl is doing great! She has done a superb job at doing her business outside. She is really comfortable around us now, and can walk without her leash while staying right beside us.
have any of the others found home? we thought about adopting onefor my mother in law.my ittle grayson is 1.5 i still cant believe the owners surrendered him!! the only issue we have is if the kids accidently let him out he is gone like the wind all the neighbors have met him haha. i am hoping the neuturing will help this problem i am not sure why he does it but he runs!!!
That was the way Sally was too! As soon as the front door opened, she would shoot outside running like a crazy dog, and we were not able to catch her. We tried everything to get her to come back to the house. So we had to wait for her to come back when she was ready. Thats why she was ran over. We had given up on retreaving her, and was waiting for her to scratch at the door. =(
Misty is not allowed in the front yard at all! Soon we will start walking everyday, and that will be the only time she is allowed near the road.
I think a girl that I work with was going to adopt one of the boy pups yesterday, but I'm not sure if she did. You can always call the AC and ask. =)
I would love to adopt that BIG, BEAUTIFUL Sheperd/Golden Retriever Mix. Her name is Virginia and she looks so sweet. My hubby says no though! LoL He says big dogs poop and eat too much!
ha ha that they do!! i am going to call and check on them. i dont know if grayson woulld come back so we bought a 50 foot tie out so that when we are outside playing he can play too!! we have a fenced yard but he can fit through holes the little buger
