![]()
Meet Champ. He is a Border Collie/Terrier mix. He is very sweet and loves to play and snuggle. Champ is about 3 months old and all of his siblings have been adopted. He is lonely and needs a forever home soon!

Meet Dixie she is a 1 year old Jack Russell Terrier. Her pictures tell the story. She was watching her owners drive away leaving her at our shelter. These sweet babies need a forever home ASAP! Our adoption process is very easy!! The fee for adopting an animal is $65 that includes a $50 refund after the animal is spayed or neutered. Our facility contains an Adoption Room that will allow you and your family to spend quality time to ensure the right pet for you! All animals must leave with a current Rabies Vaccination. The current cost for this is $13.
Come Visit Us! The shelter is now staffed during the day for viewing of animals and for dropping off animals. Give us a call to schedule a time to come in. 205 Lane Parkway Shelbyville, TN 37160 Phone: 931-685-1130 FAX: 931-685-1227 Email: Michael Gregory Brenda Goodrich Visit our new Website at: http://www.bedfordtnanimalcontrol.org/ Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

Hey Everyone
Dixie is Spayed and her adoption fee will be just $15.00.
"She was watching her owners drive away leaving her at our shelter."
Really? That is so sad - I can't understand why someone would do that.
I couldn't do that either. It has broken my heart all day long.
I don't know the owners situation and it is sad but they may have had a reason. I did take a dog to a shelter once. We bought him as a puppy and were always very good to him. The older he got the meaner he got, my girls were young and became very afraid of him. I could have gave him away but I did not want anyone with children to have him. When I took him in I told them he was very mean and did not need to be in a home with children. Someone wanted him before I got out the door and they didn't have kids.
Oh my goodness.
How sad.
I hope both the dogs find a good home. :(
Disgusted, in my opinion, when you get a pet they are a part of the family and you do all you can to take care of them. If something happens, as with your dog - I certainly wouldn't be taking him to animal control where he would have a chance to be euthenized. I also certainly would not be able to walk away while he is watching me. But maybe that's just me.
Makes my heart melt to hear someone dropping a dog off. Look at the noble posture of that dog.

I love animals but I love my children more. Their safety comes first and there are to many children that have been attacked, killed, and disfigured by dogs.
Good news I believe one way or the other Dixie is getting a home. Someone is coming today to get her and if that falls through a rescue group will pull her Sat.
Good to hear, Brenda!
