We have not found Chance, but are still looking. Last night we had a very ugly call from someone who said that he had taken him while in town visiting relatives. The caller said that he was in a "good" home now, not to worry. How can you not worry? How can it be a "good" home when he is with thieves? I think that it was a prank call from a very disturbed person.

The call came in restricted. We are actually considering calling the police and having the phone records subpeonaed.

I'll be praying for you.

It's the not knowing that hurts.

We've lost pets that way and,in one case,we found out ages later that a small child had been in posession of our dog but no one said a word when we asked around in that neighborhood.

A gentleman bought the dog just to provide it a safe home.

By the time I heard the story, years had gone by and the dog was devoted to its rescuer.

I'm not as forgiving of the child's folks as I should be but I'm grateful for the man who saw my pet in need and came to its aid.

We never let on that we knew the dog described because it was enough to know it was safe and loved.

Now,we use tattoos and/or chips in addition to tags so,if our critters ever do get lost, there's some chance of a vet, shelter worker, etc. being able to access their i.d.,medical records and contact information for their family.

Don't let go of hope.

Diana,

Thank you so much for thinking of us. My boyfriend and I both have had dreams that we found him. Joe dreamt that he found him sleeping next to some wooded area and I dreamt that he came running around the house chasing after my daughter.

We had thought that he was picked up by a certain person, but we have found that person and he actually led us around his dog kennels and Chance wasn't there.

In a way I am happy to know that this person didn't take our dog, but I also am a little sad. It would have been nice to know that he is ok.

Thank you all for your help!

Hey have you found your dog?

I had a dream last night about your dog (don't ask me why I don't even know you) but I do believe it was your dog who I dreamed about.

I am not trying to say my dreams always come true but many of them do come partly true..I hope this one does for you.

I was walking on a dark road there was a river or creek nearby. I heard someone yelling and I walked over to where I heard the screams from..there was a young girl standing outside what appeared to be a small out building she was trying to get in..your dog was in there barking and growling at her like he was very fightened by her appearance. I bent down and called his name and he stopped barking and came right to me like he was saying "thank God somebody who knows me" I do not remember anything after that.

But do you have a creek or river nearby? If you do check close to the edges and see if there are any out buildings. I can not promise anything will come of this dream but it is odd that out of blue I dreamed of your dog.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Maybe you should put an ad in the Lost section of the paper. They seem to get good results. Good luck, hope you find him soon.

Unfortunately, we have been thinking that someone took him. But, I am hoping that if someone did take him that he is being cared for.

I hate that you haven't found your dog. I also hate to mention this but it sounds like somebody may have picked him up and took him home with them afterall he is a good looking dog. There are alot of people who see a dog out and think they are free for the taking not even thinking about the owners out looking for him. At least if someone did take him maybe he is warm and dry.

I hope he turns up soon for you Good luck and best wishes.

No, we still haven't found him. We have been driving all over the county looking. Thanks for asking.

Did you find your dog?

-- Posted by Dianatn on Sat, Jan 17, 2009, at 12:12 AM

Chance was last seen at our home on Monday evening. He was wearing a brown collar with spikes. Chance is all white with a few very faint spots.

Chance does not usually go out when it is cold. He has arthritis in his back leg and has trouble walking on it in the cold.

Please let us know if you have seen him or even if you just think it was him! It is very cold out and we are getting very worried about him.

Thanks for all of your help!

My heart goes out to this family. I don't know what I'd do if I lost one of my babies. I'll keep the safe return of their beloved pet in my prayers.
