Some good news

It looks like Tennessee is finally starting to think outside the box when it comes to their issues in their secondary.
Injuries and/or poor play left cornerbacks Marsalous Johnson and Antonio Gaines along with safety Jarod Parrish, who all started the season opener at Cal, on the bench at different points of the home win over Arkansas State. All along it seemed like junior college transfer DeAngelo Willingham and freshmen Eric Berry and Brent Vinson should be seeing a bulk of the playing time alongside senior safety Jonathan Hefney. For a staff that always claims they are going to play the most talented athletes regardless, it took a 1-2 start to get the newcomers on the field. Talk of scheme, trust and experience have been noted as reasons for not letting more of the young players play. But, for a staff that got true freshmen Peyton Manning, Casey Clausen, Erik Ainge and Brent Schaeffer all ready in time to play quarterback you would think it would have been much easier to tell No. 13 to go cover No. 1 and go wherever he goes. Stay tuned to see how much longer it takes the rookie receivers to see enough playing time to contribute. They have two weeks to prepare for a visit from Georgia, who just improved to 23-3 on the road under coach Mark Richt after defeating Bama in Tuscaloosa in overtime on Saturday. My hope is that the Vols just understand how to play the game again...
Fulmer and his staff are a great group of coaches, they just need to get back to the core of football and start putting their best players on the field, regardless of class status or last name. There are talented guys who don't see play time because heaven forbid they may take the spot light from big name, potential NFL recruits.
It could be worse you could be 0-4 and have a home loss too a New D1-A(FBS) school Western Kentucky, they have a really good team,!
Here's to selling out and going 8-4 on the year! Hey a person can dream right?
Go Big Blue!
I hope Fulmer and his staff can right the ship on the hill. He tends to be too loyal to assistant coaches and players, and it comes back to bite him. He truly is a good man, but I'm afraid he has grown content and the game has passed him by. We'll just have to wait and see how the rest of this season plays out to determine whether or not he will be on the sidelines next year.
