Champs move up

The high school football polls came out again this morning. Of course the opinions of newspaper reporters, radio personalities and television faces mean very little in the grand scheme of things. I am guessing I am the only voter that has actually seen Cascade play four quarters this season, which makes me think about how many holes the college football system has had over the years in determining a national champ.

I'll save that blog for another day.

By the way, the Champions moved up a slot to No. 4 after demolishing Eagleville 57-0 in impressive fashion last week. If not for the new, much-needed running clock rule in the second half and the personality of the coaching staff, the score differential could have easily been in the 70s or worse. Subsequently, they got my first vote of the season for the Top 10.

McKenzie got a 1st place vote at 6-1 yet Cascade can't get one at 7-0. McKenzie plays in a good region,(Last years State Champion came from there, Jackson Christian, Now in 2A)

The Jackson Sun must have a lot of sports writers who are from McKenzie?

McKenzie's one loss came against a 2A opponent so I guess the writers reflected that in their polling plus the region it's in.
