Big Al on the prowl

Posted Thursday, January 10, 2008, at 2:43 AM

Former Tennessee linebacker Al Wilson has reportedly received permission from doctors to resume his pro football career.

According to ESPN's John Clayton, Wilson received clearance from Los Angeles back specialist Bob Watkins.

The Jackson native still owns a place in the heart of Big Orange fans across the state as the heart and soul of UT's defense in the late 90s and was tabbed as an All-American in '98, a year in which he was also a Butkus Award semifinalist. He also earned All-SEC praise twice.

The 30-year-old former Denver Bronco and five-time Pro Bowler is currently a free agent. In nine years in the NFL, he has 723 tackles and 21.5 sacks.

Anybody else think that having Wilson between Keith Bulluck and David Thornton at linebacker for the Titans would look pretty good?

Big Al is great! I would love to see as a Titan next year.

OH MAN! Put Big Al and Hainesworth on the field together( I wouldn't want to be on that side of the offensive line and try to block those two) then pick up a few more UT players for the other side of the ball and we would be set.
