Here we go again

AUBURN, Ala. -- Is this starting to feel like the 5-6 season of 2005 to anybody else?

What do you think Tennessee fans?

That year the defense played well enough to win almost every single week, including down in The Swamp. But, either a totally inept offense or crucial special teams mistakes prevented the 'W's from piling up.

Sound familiar?

An Auburn team that some picked to win the SEC West was held to 2.6 yards per carry, 129 passing yards and one offensive touchdown and the Volunteers still found a way to lose.

With the exception of the botched handoff to Arian Foster (although, several folks do blame Crompton for that fumble too) that resulted in a Tiger touchdown after Jake Ricks pounced on the loose ball in the end zone, all the fingers are being pointed at Tennessee quarterback afterward. The fourth-year junior completed just 8-of-23 passes for 67 yards and no scores.

"It's part of football," Crompton said. "It's one of those times I've got to fight through it. We'll be OK. We're going to get through it as a team. Everybody's going to get togther. Nobody's got their head down blaming so and so and so and so. We win as a team, we lose as a team and everybody on our team knows that."

Nevertheless, it's just not clicking with Crompton running the show. He's now 1-4 for his career as a starter. It might be time to at least give someone else a go.

I said much the same thing today. I just don't think Crompton is the right quarterback right now. Let's pull a Titans play and put in the backup for a while. Who is the backup by the way????

Just heard tonight that the quarterback position is up for grabs. Crompton could be pulled for the sophmore backup.

lol I love it, i told you all they were terrible. they will be lucky to win 5 games this year. Hey but on a brighter note here is some news about the OTHER D-1 football teams in TN. Vandy is ranked 19th and MTSU plays its first nationally televised home game tomorrow

That game was pathetic. Auburn tried to give the game away and Tennessee couldn't run with it, "no pun intended"...
