This week's Tennessee High School AP football poll is out. The teams claiming the top spots in the respective classes are Kingsport Dobyns-Bennett, Maryville, David Lipscomb, Alcoa, South Pittsburg and Ensworth.

Of course, none of these polls amount to a hill of beans. They do give a perspective as to which teams are doing well in their respective part of the state.

Due to getting some inconsistent results and feedback, I've only voted a few times this year. However, here is how my selections looked this week:

Odd that you'd have a couple of one loss teams ranked ahead of our local undefeated team. Guess we know how Greenback pulled into a tie for 6th with Cascade this week. Thanks

i'm still waiting on a positive column on the titans after their most recent draft was bashed bigtime by this writer back in april. seems to me somebody has a whole lot of crow to eat. we have one great team and these rookies are playing a big role. it's also so refreshing to have pacman out of here and creating havoc somewhere else. that's another big reason it's all coming together now for the boys in blue. still waiting on that story.

It would be foolish of anybody to judge a draft six months after it took place. Chris Johnson has been a game-changer. Jason Jones has given them some quality snaps here and there. The other Titans picks were Craig Stevens, William Hayes, Lavelle Hawkins, Stanford Keglar and Cary Williams. Those guys don't bake crow. Don't start to pretend that the '08 class is why this team is 6-0. You'd be taking away from the veterans that are playing their rear ends off.

Polls don't matter. They're only opinions. They don't bring home plaques. Be proud of your boys for being thought of as a Top 10 team. They've fought hard all season to be 8-0.

Well, now that Cascade is the only 1A school left that is undefeated on the west side of the bracket they'll rate a higher vote this week.
