Cascade climbs

Posted Wednesday, October 29, 2008, at 12:58 AM

In light of their stunning 15-14 win at third-ranked Jo Byrns, Cascade earned a higher spot in my rankings this week of the Top 10 teams in each football classification.

The Champions look to improve to 10-0 for the first time in school history when they host White House-Heritage for Senior Night on Friday.

In other play across Bedford County, Shelbyville Central battles Region 4 winner Hillsboro, arguably the most talented Class 4A team in middle Tennessee, on Thursday night. The Boros carry one of the top cornerbacks in the country in Eric Gordon. According to Rivals.com, the 5-foot-9, 187-pound senior has narrowed his list of college choices to Alabama, Miami (Fla.), Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas Tech.

Community hopes to send their seniors out on a winning note when they host Eagleville on Friday night at 7:30 in their season finale.
