Titans plug holes

The Tennessee Titans went to work at the NFL Draft on Saturday and Sunday looking to fill some holes left by free agency and add much-needed depth.
Although it generally takes a few years to clearly grade how a team does in any draft, the team seems pleased with their 11 selections. "We feel like offensively we definitely helped ourselves," coach Jeff Fisher told the Associated Press. For the first time since 1998, Tennessee chose a wide receiver in the first round when they turned in their card reading Kenny Britt. The 6-foot-3, 215-pounder is the Big East's all-time leading ball-catcher. His presence should be felt mostly in the red zone. Sen'Derrick Marks should work into the rotation at defensive tackle to help fill some of the void left by Albert Haynesworth signing with Washington. Most of the hoopla on the second day surrounded tight end Jared Cook. He has tremendous speed for the position and gives the Titans reason to let Bo Scaife walk after the 2009 season if he can get acclimated to life in the NFL quickly. Running back Chris Henry might not make it onto the opening day roster, effectively sealing his fate as a widely-predicted bust from the second round of the 2007 draft. Word is that Rafael Little is working his way back to being 100 percent and Sunday the team snatched up Javon Ringer in the fifth round. Nice Work Parker.
I think Ringer is going to be the steal of the draft. He is a Eddie George type back who will fit in great with the Titans. For LenDale's sake he better be in shape or he may lose some carries to this kid.
