UT freshmen arrestedPosted Thursday, November 12, 2009, at 7:54 AM
According to WVLT in Knoxville, Tennessee freshmen football players Nu'Keese Richardson and Janzen Jackson were arrested on armed robbery charges Thursday at 2 a.m.
The robbery allegedly occurred at the Pilot convenience story on Cumberland Avenue. Jackson, a highly-recruited safety that played in each of the first eight games for UT, is coming off of a one-game suspension. After not being involved heavily in the offense for the South Carolina game, wide receiver Richardson skipped practice on Nov. 1. "There is no situation. Nu'Keese was dealing with some issues on Sunday, personal issues. Nu'Keese was in (Monday) and everything is fine," Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin said. The Knoxville News Sentinel is reporting that defensive back Mike Edwards was also involved. Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

They have to go. Coach Kiffin needs to kick them off today. Kiffin has shown that he has a very low tolerance for foolishness by kicking other players off the team for far less offenses. I'm sure Kiffin's blood is boiling right now.
Yeah, they've played their last game.
They need to be kicked off the team, but I would amost bet that they will given a slap on the hand and will be allowed to play.
Apparently you can sometimes take the thug out of the "hood" but you can't always take the "hood" out of the thug. Good riddance to both.
This came over from the University of Tennessee today:
University of Tennessee head coach Lane Kiffin announced Monday that freshman wide receiver Nu'Keese Richardson and defensive back Mike Edwards have been permanently dismissed from the football team.
"After extensive and thorough research of the situation over the last four days and considering various disciplinary options, I've decided it's in the best interest of our program to remove Nu'Keese and Mike," Kiffin said. "As I've said many times before, we hold our student-athletes to an extremely high standard on and off the field. Our student-athletes must be responsible members of society, and this type of conduct will not be tolerated.
"We want a positive culture for our student-athletes that allows them to succeed in the classroom, on the field, and in life after college. My hope is that these two young men will learn from their terrible decision. Clearly, their actions have no place in our program."
Janzen Jackson will continue to not be allowed to participate in team activities while Kiffin awaits additional information.
Meanwhile right up the road in Murfreesboro the BlueRaiders are putting together a great season looking to go 8-3 this weekend and making the possibility of bowl more realistic while UT still cant say that
Ouch, Nu'Keese and Mike will hurt the Tennessee APR big time since they are freshman. Assuming that since they are not playing football they will more than likely transfer to some other school or the Knox County Jail.
