Five weekend thoughts

Posted Friday, September 28, 2007, at 6:54 AM

Five quick thoughts for the weekend:

*If Mary Winkler gets her children back, will they wonder in the backs of their minds, "Will I be next?"

*Katie Couric of CBS Evening News was once perky. Remember? Now she seems miserable.

*Bologna or baloney? In a Kroger TV ad the announcer pronounced it 'baloney' while the screen read "bologna."

*Will the deer population ever grow to the point we'll see venison served in fast-food restaurants? Should deer be raised like cattle? After all, we eat cows, pigs, chickens and a few other animals.

*Does anyone else wish Arsenio Hall was still on late-night TV?

Something just don't sit right with me about the whole Mary Winkler thing. If it were me, I'd be locked up forever.

Katie Couric has always gotten on my nerves, but especially on the Today show.

Isn't bologna pronounced baloney? I don't care for it myself.

Can't eat deer. Yuck! Deer are best for observing. No Bambi killers here.

YES! I loved the Arsenio Hall show! and also still miss it.

Katie Couric doesn't seem that miserable to me. She is probably just a little disappointed with her ratings, but after the conservatives get over Rathergate she will bounce back up because she is good at what she does.

You would have to build a pretty tall fence to keep deer contained against their will. I once watched a huge Limousine bull jump a gate. Pretty amazing.

* Mary Winkler should NEVER get her children back. She killed their father. She said she "snapped" What if she "snaps" again? If I was the child, I would be terrified.

*Even after the death of her husband, Katie came back to the Today show looking perky, now she looks like she wants somebody to put her out of her misery

*HAHA..I don't know which is the proper way to say Bologna, I hate it any way you say it.

*This is one person you will never see eating deer, like Countrymom said, No Bambi killers here.

*AND I loved Arsenio Hall. He was the greatest. I miss the "dog pound" WOOT WOOT!! He was so full of energy. I wonder what happened to him?

*Mary Winkler- for some reason I feel sorry for the woman. It is hard to say what I would have done if I were in her shoes.

*Katie Couric- I never cared much for her as a news person.

*Bologna or baloney? Oscar Myer says its B O L O G N A "LOL"

*Deer? I am not eatting any deer on purpose or rabbit or squirrel or snake.

* Arsenio Hall- I miss him and I can not think about Arsenio Hall without remembering the movie "Coming to America" He and Eddie Murphy were great in that movie.

So we pronounce "bologna" as "baloney". There is a "Maury" county right here in Middle Tennessee, and everyone knows that is correctly pronounced "Murray", except when a new TV newscaster comes to town.

I don't feel sorry for Mary Winkler, we are only told what she said, not the other side of the story. If I killed someone, I am sure I could come up with a 1,000 different things this person did to me to justify the murder. It's easy when the other party is dead to crucify them in a trial, because they can't defend themselves.
