No superstitions for me

  • I have always believed that it was sacreligious to have superstitions. If you were to ask me, I would tell you that, no, I do not have any superstitions.

    Try as she might it seemed that my grandmother was trying to make me superstitious of everything but they did not stick to me.

    However, I can not help but wonder why we always have hog jowl and black-eyed peas every New Year's Day without fail. Also I wonder why I will not tell a dream until after breakfast.

  • I also am not superstitious. It's fun to hold your breath over bridges or x the window and spit when a black cat crosses your path but I hold no fear when it happens.

    The other day our total at the local convenience store was $6.66.When the salesgirl mentioned the superstition I simply said "my God is bigger than that 6.66 & besides I have read the end of the book and know who won that battle" and she was like wow great way to look at that :)
