  • I had 280 spooks (give or take a few).

We thought there would be a light turn out of less than 100 but it picked up after eight o'clock.

Some of the older kids seemed a bit self-conscious but the younger ones were very open and charming.

    All of them were well-behaved.

    They weren't greedy.

They thanked us and wished us a Happy Halloween.

I noted that they used caution out in the streets, were careful going up and down stairs and helped other kids even when they didn't know them.

I didn't witness anyone giving grief to a chaperone either.

I hope their families were aware of the impression these children made.

Even the simple, inexpensive disguises had flare .and the trick-or-treaters' friendly, respectful conduct made them seem as bright as a harvest moon.

We're definitely looking forward to next year.
