Shoutout to Ann Bullard

I've been meaning to give a shoutout to former T-G colleague Ann Bullard, who several of us talked to briefly when she visited Shelbyville a few weeks ago -- and who has the good sense (well, I think it makes good sense!!!) to read this blog.

Ann was an inspiration to many of us. After graduating from college with a degree in journalism, life's circumstances kept her away from daily newspaper work until the age at which many people retire. Then she finally got to spend several, award-winning years achieving what she'd always wanted.

She's a gracious Southern lady with the reporting tenacity of a bulldog when necessary and the spirit of someone two generations younger. I was privileged to work with her.

Come back and spend enough time to share a meal with all of us newsies, Ann. You know how we T-G'ers love to eat. We might even get a few words in between bites...
