A letter from the futurePosted Tuesday, February 5, 2008, at 9:30 AM
There's a country song out now - hopefully, one of you knows who it's by, because I don't -- in which the singer tells of writing a letter to himself when he was younger.
If I could write to my younger self, I'd say to not sweat the small stuff and learn as much as I could while young while taking time to play. And if I could write from my teenage days to my older self, I'd send a strong reminder to always try and at least understand, if not keep, a youthful, open-minded (yet mature) outlook. If you could send a letter or e-mail from the future or past to yourself, what would you say? Comments Showing most recent comments first [Show in chronological order instead] |

I not only got orange hair but a hideous rash to go with it.
Orange hair and yellow (then purple) skin...
Thank heavens, the yearbook pictures were still in black and white.
Hey I used Sun-In too but I looked more like Carrot Top LOL
Y'all are very wise.
In addition to suggestions about health issues, investments and relationships,I'd include some grooming and fashion tips.
I'd tell my younger self that Sun-In WOULD make me look like a movie star - H.R. Pufnstuff.
HAHA! I would tell myself, "be the change you want to see in the world"... b/c if you don't lead by example, nobody follows!
Also, I would tell myself to cherish the "sweet nothings", the simple things in life... and to greatly appreciate every moment you have with each person you befried, and are family to. Nobody lives forever, so make every moment count. And lastly, I would tell myself just b/c I am having a bad day, doesn't mean I need to make it worse for everyone else.
Maybe if Brad Paisley had written it earlier I would have listened to him. lol
I would tell myself what the Powerball numbers were for 12/22/2007...
I'd tell myselft to make better decisions about relationships and be more appreciative of my parents. It still amazes me how much smarter my Dad is now that I am also a father.
That song was written and sung by Brad Paisley.

I would tell myself to listen to my father and take the money instead of the husband that turned out to be exactly what my father said he was. Parents bribery is not always a bad thing!
I would tell my younger self that being a grown-up is harder than you think!
I couldn't wait to grow up!
I'd tell myself to (really) listen to my mother and grandmother!
I'd tell my younger self to invest in Wal-mart and MicroSoft...
