What's in a name?Posted Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at 1:52 PM
In case you didn't know -- I didn't until I saw it on a news website -- today is Unique Name Day.
Remember when parents usually chose from a small number of names for their children? Today, the sky's the limit.
Anyone who works in the editorial department of a newspaper sees lots of names. Those of today's students, especially in the long lists of honor rolls we publish in the print edition, are sometimes fascinating.
I read a while back about a TV sports fan who named his son Espen, as in ESPN.
And I've heard of a few people named Porsche, as in the sports car.
So what's your favorite unique name?
