Storm brings out the best in us

Reaching out to others in need: It's what Bedford County's best at when problems arise. I spent most of Friday afternoon covering the storm damage in a wide area from Fairfield Pike to past Country Estates Road near Bell Buckle. As Steve Mills alluded to in his blog, it's all about neighbors helping others. Nearly everywhere I went, neighbors -- and people from outside the neighborhood -- were helping neighbors or mentioned having checked on others. And people frequently saw me and stopped to tell me of other areas where the wind, or tornado, or whatever it was struck. (I think it was a tornado. A path is evident.) That information was much appreciated. Some of the world's best people live in Bedford County. We saw the proof Friday. I agree 100%. I live on Country Estates Rd and I do have to say we have the best neighbors anyone could ask for. We(pretty much our whole neighborhood) spent the rest of the afternoon picking up each others yards after the storm. We thank the Lord above that no one was hurt and that this tornado-storm, whatever it was, did not hit the school. We will all continue to pray for the Carter family as well as they try to pick up the pieces and move forward.
