Storm brings out the best in usPosted Friday, April 11, 2008, at 9:37 PM
Helping Derek Cook (far left) repair his storm-damaged roof in Country Estates are, beginning second from left, Mike Calahan, Chris Inmon, David Peoples and Ben Fletcher.
I spent most of Friday afternoon covering the storm damage in a wide area from Fairfield Pike to past Country Estates Road near Bell Buckle.
As Steve Mills alluded to in his blog, it's all about neighbors helping others.
Nearly everywhere I went, neighbors -- and people from outside the neighborhood -- were helping neighbors or mentioned having checked on others.
And people frequently saw me and stopped to tell me of other areas where the wind, or tornado, or whatever it was struck. (I think it was a tornado. A path is evident.) That information was much appreciated.
Some of the world's best people live in Bedford County. We saw the proof Friday.
