Looking for weather prognosticatorsPosted Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at 2:55 PM
Remember the woman, now deceased, in Crab Orchard who predicted winter weather, with some success, each fall?
Do any of you know anyone who has a sense of what winter's going to be like each year -- and/or who sees indicators in nature which most of us miss?
I've got a story upcoming on winter weather predictions and, while we'll check the "Old Farmer's Almanac" and the usual sources, it's likely many of you can be just as reliable.
I'd like to get in touch with a few local folks who have a track record of weather prognosticating. Contact me by e-mail, firstname.lastname@example.org or 684-1200 ext. 229, with some names.
And leave your predictions here, too.
Side note: Remember what snow looked like? There are quite a few small children in Bedford County who have never seen a real snow. Remember the "old days" ("old" as in the 1980s and 1990s?)
