So who's No. 1?Posted Sunday, January 4, 2009, at 10:02 PM
Ask football fans from Utah who's No. 1 in college football this season.
They'll likely insist it's their Utah Utes, who embarrassed Alabama big time in the Sugar Bowl. Yes, I realize the teams from the big conferences are, in most seasons, proven better. But it seems like the Bowl Championship Series occasionally manages to lock out deserving teams. It's past time to throw out the traditional bowl games and set up a true college playoff series. Don't get your hopes up, because too much money's involved in the bowl system. Nice thought, anyway. Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

Your exactly right. The bowls could be used for a playoff. However, I dont think Utah could stay on the field with Florida, Oklahoma, or Texas. But thats just my opinion
Utah defeated Alabama by a larger margin than Florida did. I realize that does not mean much but they proved they could beat one of the top SEC teams. Until they have a playoff it will always be tainted.
No.1- TEXAS!
