Conan replacing Kiffin? Uh, no.Posted Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at 9:25 AM
I was about to suggest that Conan O'Brien, who's likely to be exiting the "Tonight Show" soon, might find his next job as head coach of the Tennessee Vols.
As T-G co-worker John Carney responded, Conan's already got the orange hair. On second thought, though, maybe it wouldn't be such a good choice. Tennessee doesn't need another clown as head coach. Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

I was waiting for someone else to start the post on this. Thank you David.
Probably a month ago I mentioned to my wife during a UT football game that I did not feel comfortable with Kiffin. I could not put my finger on it, nor come up with a solid reason, just my gut.
My best description then was that he acted like a kid who was always trying to get away with something. The rumors we heard about possible recruiting ethics did not surprise me, so I say GREAT, he resigned before he brought disgrace to Tennessee.
He probably sees USC as a chance of a lifetime and I hope he gives it his best for the players' sakes. UT could have also been a chance of a lifetime as well, but I believe his heart was in California.
He might be a great tactician but he needs to grow up a bit more before parents should want their son to be coached by him. What he showed this week was immaturity, opportunism, lack of ethics towards commitment and selfishness. Certainly NOT a team player nor a good roll model, by any means.
