Got a sweet tooth (or any left after too much sugar)? Go here and spend some hungry moments.
One of the big parts of working, sitting around before/after work, etc., is snacking. Especially when you can make those snacks good and healthy at the same time.
I occasionally snack on Smarties candies mainly because they're 25 calories, no fat per pack. Great for keeping the appetite down for at least a few moments, especially on days when I go without breakfast.
Then there's chocolate.
Chocolate has its benefits. Studies have shown dark chocolate is good for the heart and for lowering blood pressure and LDL cholesterol. Remember that as you indulge in moderation. Makes a good excuse, anyway.
I'm the Keeper of the Candy Jar in the T-G. When Kay Rose retired a few years ago I more or less inherited the jar and keep it filled with chocolate and Reese's goodies, plus adding a second jar for Smarties.
Meanwhile, I've gotten into Healthy Life bread, the 35-calorie-per-slice kind. I guess it's maybe a little unusual because, in addtition to bread as part of sandwiches, I also like just bread. Plain bread, nothing on it, just the unmodified essence of bread. Those slices make a great work snack.
So do Frosted Mini-Wheats. I liked the brown sugar flavor, which was recently discontinued, so now I'm indulging on the chocolate type.
For some reason I've never gotten into fruit other than oranges, grapes, cherries and blueberries.
So the search continues, for more healthy, low-calorie but filling snack foods.
