Taxes: How late do you wait?Posted Friday, April 16, 2010, at 9:45 AM
Yesterday was Tax Day. I filed my return by computer last Friday, and April 9 is actually early for me.
I procrastinate each year. I've usually got everything I need to file by February but wait until the last few days. And, honestly, I don't really know why. It usually isn't as much trouble as I expect it to me, especially in these days of TurboTax and Internet filing. And I noticed that most of the people who work around me said they were filing within the final two or three days, some within the final hours. How many of you waited until late? And why do we wait? Didn't file or pay until about 5:00pm April 15th, and the only reason I didn't wait til 11:50pm is that I had to go to work.
I usually file sometime in March but never pay them until April 15th.
Glad tax time is over...my blood boils the entire time.
i havent filed a tax return since 1973.
Before our daughter started college we used to wait until late March, sometimes at the deadline.
Now we complete it in late January or as soon as we get all the paperwork for FAFSA.
