Meet yet another scam...Posted Saturday, May 15, 2010, at 2:51 PM
Somehow I'm not too excited about hitting the jackpot...
From my e-mail inbox: "Dear Winner, This is to inform you that you have won a prize money of Seven Hundred Ninety-Nine Thousand, One Hundred Fifty-Five Dollars and Six Cents {$799,155.06 USD} on the on going facebook Jackpot Promo 2010. Which is sponsored and organized by Microsoft and Facebook Officials which is a way of compensating our users after our sixth year anniversary." Yeah, right. Excuse me while I go celebrate the $799,155 -- oh, can't forget the .06 -- by deleting that e-mail. I guess some folks think people will believe anything these days. Of course the senders wanted certain get-into-my-finances information they're not going to get from me. The real Microsoft ought to "sponsor and organize" some big-prize contest for its users, though, after all the money they've taken in over the years. Yes, I have won several million dollar jackpots from all parts of the world. The sad thing is that so far I have not received a dime of my winnings. I have also been the millionth user on several different sites but no money yet from them either.
Think any lawyer would take the case on contingency?
