Just playing politicsPosted Thursday, January 19, 2012, at 2:29 PM
Interesting comment by state House Democratic Caucus Chairman Mike Turner today.
"We do two things up here," Turner said after the vote, according to the Associated Press. "We play politics, then after politics, we get around to governing. The GOP majority hasn't gotten around to governing yet. They're still playing politics." That came after the House passed a bill supporting a state constitutional amendment which would ban a state income tax. I think that every legislative body everywhere from the state level up, and this includes both parties, plays politics first and governs second. But I'll contradict myself a little here and say Bedford County is and has been well represented in the state House and Senate for many years. I guess the back-and-forth is what makes politics interesting, though. We never know what's coming next. Comments Showing most recent comments first [Show in chronological order instead] |

Sounds like Turner was being honest anyway. That is refreshing.
