just apologizePosted Sunday, September 16, 2007, at 11:58 PM
I have said this before in my opinion President Bush is the worst president that the United States has ever had. Its not totally because of the Iraq war either, although thats is a huge part, in my opinion he comes on Television and he never tells the truth...you know one thing about all people in general is that we all...well must of us can forgive....me personally if he would come out on Televison at a primetime hour and tell the American people that he was wrong, he made a monumental mistake and he is sorry....it would change the way i think about him....some.
All that i see now is a stubborn man that wont admit mistake and he is dragging us deeper and deeper into a war that i gurantee you we will have to walk away from one day, people have been fighting that war for years why President Bush thought he could bully his way into this country and take it over was a mistake that he now must realize. I just don't understand how a man with that much power could make such a powerful mistake, to me its almost criminal because its taking lives, because of this America will never be the same. I feel that its just a matter of time before some monumental terrorist act happens again.Schools are not protected well enough, our drinking water, bridges, nuclear power plants from the air are like sitting ducks, access to guns are too easy. The television tells everything, somethings should remain quiet for nationl security reasons but for some reason some peope feel like they have to know or tell everything and for that reason the terrorist know as well. They too watch CNN. Our Borders are not secure, and it just doesn't make sense. I feel there are already a lot of these terrortist here now they aren't stupid they take advantage of situations, especially ones that are just given to them....but having said all of that i could start forgiving Mr Bush if he would just say "I'm Sorry" that would go along way with me. It wont get us out of this situation but at least it's a start. Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

Very well stated Eugene... Agreed!
I posted this on another blog but I feel it is worth reposting. I agree that we should use our resources to secure our borders but I disagree that we sought out this war. I hate it that we are fighting a politically correct war instead of going in and obliterating the enemy. That is after all the object of war........
For ALMOST 30 years, Islamic extremists and terrorists have attempted to fulfill their previously declared "Declaration of War" against the United States and "The West" in dozens of bombings of U.S. Embassies & U.S. interests and the murder of many Non-Muslims and Americans throughout the world, this long declared war finally touched continental American soil in the World Trade Center bombing in 1993.
Many, many more bombings, and murders of innocent 1000's after the '93 WTC bombing and then this 25+ year declared war culminating with September 11th 2001.
We must prosecute the current "War on Terror" against Islamic Fundamentalists and Extremists with an even greater resolve and tenacity than our "Greatest Generation" showed during their war & struggle against Japan and the Nazi's in World War II.
We must not just fight, we must fight to win! And not unlike World War II, we must fight until there is a complete victory over these enemies. Our government, and other Allied governments knew during World War II that any type of settled peace would never end the current and future threat of Japan and Germany, their governments and Ideologies. Therefore they prosecuted that war until those enemies still living, capitulated completely and unconditionally. I would have to say that (arguably) Japan & Germany have had their greatest freedoms and prosperity after World War II.
If we lose this war against Islamic Fascists and Muslim Extremists, I believe that the resulting future for us, our children and their children will be a future that will be more bleak and desperate than if the United States, England and our Allies had lost World War II to the Axis powers... I fear that our children or their children could easily live to see the end of the United States with our Democracy and the personal freedoms we enjoy to this day.
Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto (1884-1943) Commander in Chief of the Japanese Navy. After the attack on Pearl Harbor. - "I fear all we have done is awakened a sleeping giant and filled him with a terrible resolve."
I hope that the United States and our citizens are ready to fight the war that we did not ask for but was thrust on us. And that the prophetic quote of Admiral Yamamoto (uttered by him, directly after the unprovoked attack on Pearl Harbor) regarding our entering World War II, will also ring true to the current war to defend the future of our country, our freedoms and the lives of our future generations.
The recent history of Lebanon over the last 35 years is a very sad snapshot of what could easily happen in the future of the United States... The repeat of histories lessons that should have been learned from Lebanon, I believe are to be replayed out in a number of our European allies countries during most of our lifetimes.
Islamic Radicals are striving to, and expect to someday replace the Declaration of Independence and our Constitution with The Koran/Qur'an, the Sunnah and Sharia Laws... are you OK with that?
May God Bless America and especially those that rant and rave about about this war being so wrong. Never have you been so wrong......

I totally agree with you on fighting terrorism my friend but we are in the wrong country. Saddam didn't hit our WTC. We went into Iraq on a total lie.
As for the sleeping giant yes we have awakend one as well more so than ever. We now have more enenmies coming out of the woodwork than we ever before.
I will never agree that this war with Iraq is right Bush has totally distabalized the whole region, has sped up Iran's quest for a nuclear wepeon has totally destroyed a country...and for what. He should have been putting all of his efforts into finding the man that hit the twin towers but since he obviously couldn't do that the "redneck" had to take it out of someone else. Again lets go after the Islamic extremist not go in and take over a country and try to police that country. We have to fight this Iraq situation politically correct bedcause their is no army there to fight...this is a civil war between factions and we have no reason to be in the middle of this mess....a mess that Bush started but didn't see the outcome. If Saddam had hit the towers i would have been 100% in favor in taking out Saddam but in reality he had no more to do with it than i did. How dare Bush go and start a war under false pretenses...a war that is costing us 12 million dollars a day....money that could be used for so many other things here in the United States. A president has no right to go into a country just because he doen't like the policies of that country, its quite obvious to me that Bush can't handle policies here in our country let alone try to manage some other countries affairs
The war in Iraq is a scam created to fleece the American public out of a trillion dollars. The administration invoked fear of weapons of mass destruction in the hands of terrorists in the wake of 9-11 to get its resolutions and authorization bills passed. The president and the vice president knew what they were doing when they collected trumped up evidence to support their false claims. They knew that Sunnis, Shiites, and Kurds did not get along and that we would find ourselves in the middle of a long civil war. They knew that once we removed Saddam we would be required to stay and provide security to keep the neighboring states from gaining control of the government. They planned no bid contracts to Haliburton and other companies that belong to their political supporters. These men should be held accountable for their actions, but if that day does not come then history will convict them. Why should American's die fighting a civil war between Iraqis? If you want to fight a war on terror go and find Bin Laden. If Pakistan doesn't want us to enter their country to go and get him, then turn it to dust. They are willfully harboring a confessed terrorist and murderer. They are not an ally. We should have invested the trillion dollars we have spent on the war on converting vehicles and infrastructure to hydrogen or some other alternative fuel so we can tell OPEC, the Iranian, the Saudis, and the Venezuelans to take a hike. Then the civilized world can regain power by controlling the important resources like food, timber, and fresh water. What, your land is full of sand with very little precipitation? That's too bad for you.
exactly my way off thinking Nathan.

You can not compare Japan and Germany to Saudi Arabia and Iran. First of all Japan and Germany did not have a resource that the world relies on every single day. If we start a war with these nations we will cause a collapse of the world's economy overnight. The war that would follow would easily become the third world war. Larger nations like China and Russia would see this as an opportunity to gain control of the most valuable resource on our planet and may directly challenge us. The people of Iran and Saudi Arabia will heed the call from their governments to take up arms, and virtually every man, woman, and child able to fight will fight to the death. The United States entered World War II long after the war in Europe had begun. We had time to prepare having waited till we could wait no more. The Japanese and the Germans today are not hostile towards the United States because we were not the aggressors. If we invade Iran and Saudi Arabia and destroy them, they will not be so eager to forgive us and move on, just ask the Romans about that one. History can tell us one important fact about war, it should be avoided at all costs and it should never be wished for.
I hope that the United States and our citizens are ready to fight the war that we did not ask for but was thrust on us.

A small number of men attacked the United States on September 11th. They were from an organization not a state. They used funds provided by their leaders and their sympathizers. They do not collect taxes from the people, they do not have tanks or planes, and they do not have a home. The only home they had left was Afghanistan and it is no longer safe for them. The war on terror is a police action. None of our true allies have a problem with kicking in doors and arresting these guys. This does not require deposing governments, dropping bombs on warehouses, or destroying bridges and tunnels. Attacking these nations does nothing but increase the numbers that wish to join the terrorist organization and provide direct evidence to support their ideology.
World War I was started by a handful of men that assassinated Archduke Franz Ferdinand. The Archduke had been the most vocal opponent against war. The actions of these few terrorists caused a war that was unlike any previously seen. Their actions ultimately would lead to World War II as well.
We should not be pawns used by terrorists. They knew that we would attack them after September 11th. Why would they bring certain death and destruction on themselves? What is their true objective? I can assure you that killing Americans was only an added bonus for them. They have a larger objective and I fear that we are playing right in to their plans.
I did not compare the countries to one another. I merely pointed out that our approach to warfare has changed drastically since that time and not for the better. I am not for this war, never have been. But we are in it now and we should use all methods available to us to end it. It is inconcievable to hear someone say that we have to fight a war on a politically correct level. I absolutely concur with you SGT. Evans-turn the terrorists country to kitty litter and show that on CNN!!!

I would go along with turning Iraq into glass if their nation had supported 9-11. The people of Iraq are fighting their own internal civil war at this point and it we simply should not involve ourselves with it. We should not financially support any faction and we should not concern ourselves with keeping the peace. The United States has done a great thing removing Saddam from power, but had the Shiite Iraqis deposed Saddam on their own, a civil war much like the one going on now would have followed. Persians would have entered from the east and Arabs would have entered from the west. If it weren't for oil we would not have cared, but the United States will not allow anything to disrupt the flow of crude out of the middle east. This war was started for many reasons, but oil keeps us there.
war, war, war rebel were you in the military, you sound like you just want to kill up a bunch of people...doesn't matter if there guilty or not. Like Nathan said if it wasn't for the oil we wouldn't be there.
I am anti-war unless thrust upon me, then I fight to win and it does not generally include the use of a slingshot....
ya i figured that out you would use a nuclear bomb!!
Nathan I second everything you said... That is becoming habit.
Keep telling the truth, it's something that is lacking in our nation's capitol...
Discouraging isn't it slingshot? That is indeed the whole idea of war.. You appear to be the type that would bring a knife to a gun fight!
Atleast he isn't the type to use bombs to bring PEACE to a country!
You mean like the PEACEFUL religion of Islam did in our country?
A quote from General Schwartzkopf...
"I believe that forgiving terrorists is God's function. Our job is to arrange the meeting."
I do not advocate starting wars. I do believe that once we are enjoined that we should give no quarter to the enemy.
http://www.fdnylodd.com/BloodofHeroes.ht...
Did you see any innocent people in this link?
Arguing with you is a lost cause... I agree 100% that we should attack the ENEMY.....
What you fail to see, is that IRAQ is NOT the enemy... Your president, NOT MINE, has left the "enemy" alone... So you need to be saying " I do not advocate starting wars. I do believe that once we are enjoined that we should give no quarter to the enemy," to BUSH! Because Al Quaeda, nor any other terrorists threat was present in Iraq until WE arrived...
Extreme Islam is the same as Extreme Christianity... They each wage wars over who is holier than the other... And neither one will ever win.
And yes, FireFighters and innocent people were murdered on 9/11, and we just keep adding to that list every single day in a country that had not one single bit of blood on our soil....
And What Justice has these hero's from 9/11 seen? Do they have Bin Laden? Have we killed the man responsible for these attacks? Are we even looking for him? NO Your Mr Bush says "Bin Laden is of no importance"
But we got Saddam..who BTW had nothing to do with 9/11 even Bush has admitted that much, you might as well also.
Quote:
WASHINGTON -- President Bush, having repeatedly linked Saddam Hussein to the terrorist organization behind the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, said yesterday there is no evidence that the deposed Iraqi leader had a hand in those attacks, in contrast to the belief of most Americans.Thursday, September 18, 2003
In the bin laden video in 2004 he said:
"Your security is not in the hands of Kerry or Bush or al-Qaida. Your security is in your own hands and each state which does not harm our security will remain safe".
The terrorist who attacked us on 9/11 did not come here recently, they lived among us, just as they do now. While we are in Iraq being kept busy by Al-Qaida..they plan their next move from within.
Exactly Diana.. The "terrorists" knew that Bush and his regime would go after Saddam and Iraq, and they knew the moment he did that, they could start planning again, because it is easy to plan an attack when everyone, especially the president has forgotten about you until September 11th of every year. If anyone has made a mockery of our nations attacks it is the very leaders who claim to be fighting "terrorism"... Terrorism is not located only in Iraq, it is wherever America tries to spread its neo-con agenda...
"Lost causes are the only ones worth fighting for." Clarence Darrow
Lost causes are plain and simple.. and they are usually obvious, sort of like the War... Most of the country and Congress understand it is a lost cause, but staunch conservatives at home who have yet to sign up for this war, are the ones who keep us there...

Lol, Rebel and I have become well acquainted on these blogs.. A response is inevitable, just a matter of time....

I am still pushing for Nathan in 2012 :)

I am willing to take my chances..a small chance is better than the No chance we have now!

You need to get over the fact that it should NOT MATTER what party a particular candidate is from.. Too many people have become party-alligned tools and they vote against their conscious just because their respective party votes the same way...
If there were a decent Reublican who could run the country (though voting records prove they are in line with everything Bush has done) then I would vote for one. Until you can show me one that is legitimate and worth considering then, yes a Democrat will be better.. After all, the country wants change, and they won't get that from a party that is dubbed "CONSERVATIVE"
I vote for Nathan/Vindicated '08...
LOL!
