Note: The nature of the Internet makes it impractical for our staff to review every comment. Please note that those who post comments on this website may do so using a screen name, which may or may not reflect a website user's actual name. Readers should be careful not to assign comments to real people who may have names similar to screen names. Refrain from obscenity in your comments, and to keep discussions civil, don't say anything in a way your grandmother would be ashamed to read.
  • If you are going to open up a community blog then shouldn't ANYONE in the community be able to blog and not just a select few...shouldn't all of us with opinions be able to blog about their surroundings and what is going on. While I think that the Blog thing is a good idea, I would much rather post a blog about my county and my opinions about my county on the local blog instead of on myspace. You shouldn't pick and choose whose opinion I should read, you should open it up to the public or close it down and let everyone go to the sites you recommended.

  • We did not screen our bloggers based on religion or what we thought their opinions would be. And the site is literally two days old; some of our bloggers haven't even posted yet, or have only posted their initial introductory message. You might want to withhold judgment before declaring that we should shut the program down.

Also, as we've seen at Michael Bell's blog, his strong opinions on one side of an issue have given an opportunity for people with other viewpoints to comment and respond. Isn't that what you claim you want -- dialogue?
