I have just returned from Captain D's and discovered this message on my cash register receipt:

It's getting COLDER ... Warm up with a bowl of Gumbo.

And, no, the sentence (which no doubt came out of a corporate marketing office somewhere) doesn't refer to the fact that it's a couple of degrees cooler today than yesterday. Someone just told me the same thing was on the receipts last week.

I went through the drivethrough today, but I'm tempted to stop back by and go inside, so I can find out just how much colder it is there.

I stepped outside to check the mail, and it felt so good to have that strong gust of wind blow across. This summer has definetly been a hot and dry one, but I really hope that the fall and winter makes up for it.

Yeah A Good Bowl Of Hot Gumbo on a cold day is great..but it is far from being quite cold enough for Gumbo.

Lol.... I've worked there, and needless to say their management sucks...

They used to have a decent crew and it seems they love to hire and promote 18 year old with management skills of 4th graders... It's no surprise not a single soul has noticed the receipt.

Funny thing is, I PUT THAT ON THE RECEIPTS IN FEBRUARY.... When I was a manager there.
