We got a press release today from AEDC about a new uniform adopted by their security staff, which includes
...5.11 tactical pants originally developed for the FBI Academy and field wear now extensively used by law enforcement and security organizations. I have no idea what makes pants "tactical," and I'm not quite sure I want to know .... Comments Showing most recent comments first [Show in chronological order instead] |

If you are not familier with 5.11 pants (used to be called Royal Robbins brand, name changed several years ago), these are excellent pants. Think of them as army BDU pants built the way they should be. Excellent material, design, and the strongest stiching you will ever find. The knee area has a slot built into them to allow for pads. They are a little costly, but if you are into hiking, camping, hunting etc. you cant go wrong buying 5.11. Also, they last for years and when they do wear out, they last a few more years as yardwork clothes.
Ooh, You might be onto something there. Is that a gun in your "strategic underwear" or...wait, that's just taking this entirely in the wrong direction.
Next up: Strategic underwear.
The issuing of "tactical pants" isn't surprising. Since AEDC is a military installation, I'm sure the "security guards" there are more than just a bunch of fat guys looking for more pockets in which to smuggle Snickers bars into work. What does surprise me, though, is that they would deem this worthy of a press release. Why would you want this information made public? Isn't that some sort of national security issue or something if they just let everyone know what kind of pants they're wearing? Next thing you know, they'll tell everone where AEDC actually is. (just in case anyone wasn't paying attention...that last part was sarcasm).
Why would a security guard need tactical pants, and just what are they going to put in all those pockets?
Sponge Bob Tactical Pants.....oh come on, you were all thinking it!
Hmmmm.....that's interesting.
