The Knoxville News-Sentinel is doing something unsual, and, I believe, praiseworthy.
The News-Sentinel is involved in a Sunshine Law lawsuit against the Knox County Commission. Naturally, it's problematic for the newspaper to cover a court case to which it is a party -- and even if the reporter assigned to the story does a great job, readers will still be skeptical.
So one of the things the newspaper will do is to invite three established bloggers to critique its coverage.
It's a terrific idea that helps keep the newspaper honest while the newspaper is trying to keep the county commission honest.
