Not my doing

I knew that the photo of me and Doug Dezotell receiving awards was going to run in Friday's paper. I did not know it was running again in the education section of Sunday's paper, and I wasn't in the newsroom on Friday when that section was being assembled. Running the photo twice makes it look like I'm trying to promote myself -- but I had nothing to do with it!

Your humility is admirable but never apologize for unsolicited publicity. We get far too many accolades in life as it is. You take all you can get and be proud that you did something worthy of praise.
