We just got this comment e-mailed to us from the web site:
Several years ago Shelbyville voted in Liquor by the Drink. It was sold to the public as "The Restaurant Law". We were told Red Lobster, O'Charley's, and just about anything you ever wanted would come to Shelbyville. So.....What happened. I have not heard much from the people that pushed for the "Restaurant Law" lately.
We have Legends, Ruby Tuesday and Chili's, none of which existed before the passage of liquor by the drink. I don't believe anyone promised that every single casual dining restaurant chain would locate in Shelbyville -- my understanding of the case in favor of liquor by the drink was that passage of it would give us more restaurant options, which it has. There were a lot of chains mentioned as examples of what might come; several of them happened to get here first. We'd all like more choices, obviously, and I think we'll probably get more choices in the next few years. But there's no pleasing some people.
