  • I wonder if the police match the car to the license before ticketing. Of course, if the pranksters did both, then.....

  • According to the story, the pranksters did, in fact, sometimes choose a car that would look like the victim's car.

  • Watch the hooligans send a dozen clones of the chief of police or mayor's cars past cameras in different locales all at the same time.

    I expect that,any day now,some cop show will have a crook hide his identity,set up an innocent victim or provide himself an alibi by using just such false license plates.

  • Steve - I believe the company that "rents" these things to the city issues the tickets. And I would be willing to bet (figure if speech, officer) that they don't bother to look into that until after the victim has proven that they weren't on the road at that time.
