GrantsPosted Monday, August 9, 2010, at 8:57 AM
I cannot count the number of times over the past 25 years when the newspaper has gotten a press release about some local agency getting a grant, and then I or a co-worker call the agency for a comment, and the agency receiving the grant hasn't gotten the official word yet. They knew they were up for a grant, they applied for a grant, but nobody has yet told them that they received it.
It would seem like you'd want to notify the recipients at least as quickly as you notify the media, but apparently it doesn't work that way. Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

I would run it in the paper anyway, so that if the agency fails to produce - they would have egg on their face.
