What name would you suggest?Posted Thursday, October 21, 2010, at 8:39 AM
What name would you suggest for the county-owned Medical Arts Building, which now contains a mix of doctor's offices, county and state government offices, and Middle Tennessee Education Center?

There's nothing wrong with joke answers, but I was actually posing a serious question. The county commissioners were pushing around ideas the other night and didn't seem completely satisfied with anything.
Bedford County Educational Annex?
From one of today's headline stories: "A serious suggestion was later floated that the late commissioner Joyce Tune, who was also a long-time member of the hospital's board of trustees, might need to be honored in some way." ~The Tune Center for Education, Government, and Medicine. Or, Union Street Plaza.
It would have to be Dover Street Plaza -- they've just officially changed the address from Union Street to Dover Street.
I like the Tune Center idea with out the other tags. Just call it the Tune Center or The Joyce Tune Center.
The Tune Professional Plaza
Sorry for the crack answer John.It just had a ring to it.I think it Should be named after Joyce Tune in some way.She was a fine woman and its about time something be named after a woman who has done something for this city and county.Mens names are over everything so it would be a well due for county, and Joyce.
No, it was fine -- but with you being the first to respond, I didn't want to get a thread started of *only* joke answers, so I jumped in.
Hey! Good one, quietmike!
What about The Franklin Yates Center?
I am one of joyce tune's daughters. She was proud to be a part of Bedford County. At every doctors visit she would remind me that my daddy helped get the doctors clinic, she was proud of all his accomplishments and certainly followed in his foot steps. Whatever the name ends up will be good I'm sure but our family wants to express our THANKS for a chance for her memory to live on. We would be forever grateful
I'm partial to Tune Professional Plaza. Nice ring to it. I'm completely biased on the subject but Joyce's family needs to be remembered for the years of public service they gave to the community. Joyce was very active in the medical community even to the point of trying to recruit a 3rd year medical student several years ago to come home. A very sweet memory of a terrific lady.
Thanks! We all love to hear about things she did for our county.
the best name is "the dumb city and county government that dont know how to do anything center"
Tune Professional Center or Plaza...maybe something for once people around here can agree on. It would be a well-deserved honor for a couple who did so much for others.
The Tune Professional Plaza. A great way to honor one of Shelbyville's finest citizens. It just fits. Or maybe The Jordan Center to honor the last Shelbyville Police officer to lose his life in the line of duty.
I WOULD NAME IT THE {DR DEBERRY,DEARY ATKINS, PRENTIS COOPER OFFICE AND EDUCATION CENTER BUILDING} THIS WOULD COVER IT ALL HONERING THREE MEN FROM SHELBYVILLE IN ALL THREE FIELDS OF THIS BUILDING
