Lambuth

Are there any Bedford County students whose educations have been disrupted by the closing of Lambuth University? Or any local Lambuth alumni with strong feelings about the loss of their alma mater? Contact me by e-mail, jcarney@t-g.com.

I didn't know about this . . . I went to Bethel College(now Bethel University) and Lambuth was one of our rivals in sports and just down the road. Sad to hear about that. I guess it was hard for them to compete against the always growing Union University and the historically black Lane College all in the same city.

I went to Lambuth College...well, ok, I went through Lambuth College when I was a kid, growing up in Jackson, TN. I used to walk my niece in her stroller down the road and around the campus there. We had a great time (although I was worn out by the time we got back to the house). I used to love walking around that campus as a kid. But I joined the Navy rather than going to school there. Probably a better choice for me at that time in my life.
