We announced a new system last week where we solicited input from you, the readers, for our annual list of the top news stories of the year.

Well, the experiment didn't work too well -- we had only one such suggestion in a week's time. For the time being, we're going to go back to our old system of putting together the ballot in-house, although we still plan to give readers the chance to vote on the stories. Look for details on that soon.
