Severe weatherPosted Tuesday, January 17, 2012, at 11:38 AM
Scott Johnson of Bedford County Emergency Management Agency sent out an e-mail about this morning's conference call with the National Weather Service. There's a potential for damaging straight-line winds later today as a weather system moves through the area.
In the longer term, the weather service is predicting warm and wet conditions for the rest of the month, and then warmer than normal temps in February through April. Scott says this could mean an earlier start than normal to the severe weather / tornado season, which normally begins in late February. |
