Questions for satellite viewersPosted Thursday, July 12, 2012, at 10:58 AM
How have the recent programming disputes between Dish Network and AMC / IFC (resulting in the loss of AMC and IFC for Dish Network viewers) and DirecTV and Viacom (resulting in the loss of a number of networks for DirecTV viewers) affected you? What shows or channels are you missing the most? Do you tend to blame one side of the dispute more than the other? Are you looking for alternative content online?

We have Dish Network and have been generally satisfied with their service. Though there are some good movies on both AMC and IFC, the loss of these two channels hasn't changed my opinion of the service we receive.
In the not too distant future we will be investing in a very good antenna. Already have 1 Roku, we'll invest in 1 more for the spare tv... with Netflix at $8/month and HuluPlus, Crackle, and PopcornMovies for free.. who needs cable/dish/satellite?
We dropped DirecTV 2 years ago and put up an antenna, rent a movie occasionally from Red Box. I like keeping my $80.00 a month in my pocket.
I hope for the day when you pay only for the channels you get to pick out yourself. Will that ever happen?
I miss VH1 Classic. I now just listen to DirecTV music channels when I need my Hair Metal fix
We have comcast.... The TV works fine; However, the service continues to go up in cost. When I retire... I too will invest in an antenna since I will take ANOTHER pay cut. I believe if I had direct I would use this oppurtunity to research other options. What I would like to know... how do you OPT out of the QVC channels? I feel the same about MTV. Amazing to me how "high defination" channels are advertized and then you find out it is only on channels you do not watch.
