  • I owe my present state of mind, being content with who I am, knowing the right direction to take in daily life, and how to love others, to two wonderful teachers that influenced me and one that is still a blessing...So Thanks to my second grade teacher Mrs Stoncipher which is no longer with us and to my seventh grade teacher Mrs Barbera Petty Ellis you both made my life have meaning. The simple things and influences a teacher can provide in a short year can maximize your whole life to a better place, surely the are called by God to do the work of a few angels on earth. It will be an honor on Sunday to see what Mrs. Overcast is all about. Without a few good teachers, this kid would have been lost.

  • I look forward to the story Jason.

While I had many good teachers my eighth grade science teacher probably had the most impact on me. Mr. Demorest. Thank you Mr. D.

  • I have also been greatly influenced by the wonderful teachers in my life. I completed all 12 years at Community School and can name most of my teachers as those individuals who inspired my passion for education and learning at all levels...Mrs. Jonnie Russell (who laid the foundation of mathematics), Mrs. Beatrice Adcock, who instilled a love for reading, Mrs. Lillian Shearin who built on the basic foundations of my earlier years, and Mrs. Carol Burks who helped me find my love for accounting that has given me a wonderful career. Thanks to all who give so selflessly of your time, your talents, but most of all for your passion that you pass on to your students!

  • I had an amazing teacher who encouraged me to be a teacher, and had faith in my dream. I am so excited to read this story, and honor a great teacher. Teachers get little to no recognition. I am so thankful for teachers around our world, state, and county who constantly give their time and dedication to students.

I am honored to be a part of such a great profession. Thank you Jason for this article.
