Someone accused the T-G today of not providing any coverage of veterans. To paraphrase a co-worker, I would stack our coverage against any other paper our size in Tennessee.
A fast search of the word veteran in our online archives yielded a number of results going back the past year, including (but not limited to):
Bob Fullerton, a veteran of the Korean War: http://www.t-g.com/story/2328185.html
God & Country followup: http://www.t-g.com/story/2318143.html
God & Country preview: http://www.t-g.com/story/2316455.html
veterans success coach: http://www.t-g.com/story/2315730.html
Vietnam veteran: http://www.t-g.com/story/2314866.html
success coach: http://www.t-g.com/story/2313622.html
Field of Heroes: http://www.t-g.com/story/2309433.html
Wreaths Across America: http://www.t-g.com/story/2308765.html
These are only since late May...not even all of late May.
That is a small sampling. We also run regular meeting notices etc. for groups like VFW Post 5019, DAV and Vietnam Era Veterans. I don't think anyone can criticize our Memorial Day coverage of events like the Field of Heroes, or all the schools' Veterans Day programs (every single school program every year).
I believe some people just want to complain and don't even want to consider the positive. The Times-Gazette honors veterans year-round for their service.
