Fun times!
Posted Tuesday, February 26, at 4:55 PM
Whew! After that last blog, I am ready to talk about something a bit happier. I sure didn't mean to get everyone in such a tizzy! I guess that's the beauty of a blog though. Ok ok, on to bigger and better things. Today, I want to tell you about a place that I love. I don't get to go often because it's in Franklin and schedules don't always mesh. It is also a bit on the expensive side, yet completely worth every dime...

Kids are not welcome
Posted Friday, February 22, at 9:36 AM

Let's talk about customer service. Today is my husband's birthday. We made plans and reservations to go out to eat and celebrate. Darrell chose to eat at the new Walking Horse Hotel in Wartrace because we had heard such good things about their food and atmosphere. Yesterday, I called and made reservations for five and assumed that we were all set...

Friday Confessions
Posted Friday, February 8, at 10:49 AM

I found this topic on a babycenter message board. I thought it was a cute idea, so I decided to copy them and make it my own. It's about confessions. You know those silly little things that you do that you really don't want anyone to know about? Well, it's time to hang your funny laundry out for all to see. I'll go first...

Round 2
Posted Monday, February 4, at 11:28 AM

I guess it's time to come out of the closet... I am 7 weeks pregnant and I have a 3 year old. I think I might be going out of my mind! Now, don't get me wrong, I love love love my baby girl, but morning sickenss, exhaustion, and a VERY inquisitve 3 year old can really make a momma feel a little crazy!...

Family trip to Whoville
Posted Tuesday, December 11, at 8:17 AM

Over the weekend, my husband and I took our daughter to Opryland to see the Grinch who stole Christmas ice sculpture display. It was a brave mission to complete since it was a Saturday and Saturdays tend to be the busiest day at the Ice exhibit. I'm not too sure that Darrell was as excited as I was. ...

Thanksgiving miracle
Posted Wednesday, November 21, at 9:20 AM

On this Thanksgiving, I am thankful that Ava has used the potty 15 times since last night. In case you have missed previous blogs, we have been potty training for a really long time. For some reason, the little potty light bulb in her head clicked on yesterday. For that, I am thankful!...

UGH!!!!!
Posted Wednesday, November 14, at 1:49 PM

If you just so happen to be in our neighborhood, whatever you do, DON'T STOP AT OUR HOUSE! We have this horrendous cold/bronchitis/sore throat/PINK EYE catastrophe going on in our bodies. Last week, our daughter was the sickest little girl that I have ever seen. My poor little monkey couldn't even take her medicine without it coming right back up. I was very thankful for the doctor that gave her a shot. It was almost instant that she was back to her old playful self...

Labor of Love
Posted Monday, November 12, at 5:42 PM

I know I know...I am a horrible blogger. It seems that time to sit down at the computer is few and far between. I promise to do better. Today I want to show you the result of my latest craft binge, decorated cookies. I have been playing with the idea of starting a small cookie/cake business. It actually all started about 2 years ago, but a husband and 2 1/2 year old really does not allow much energy to jump into a business. Especially a business that requires a major mess in the kitchen!...

Willie v/s the Dalai Lama
Posted Wednesday, October 24, at 5:22 PM

I know I know...It's been a while. October has proven to be a busy month for our family. At this very moment, I am wedged in the backseat of our van. We are on our way home from a short trip to Atlanta. We went to Atlanta because of a commercial real estate conference. ...

Two interesting things
Posted Monday, September 17, at 4:44 PM

A few months ago we were having a family pow-wow when my brother in law Brought up a "getting to know you" exercise that he had to do in a meeting. The jist of it was, tell everyone two interesting and unusual things about yourself. I thought it was a cool conversation starter. So, we are going to do just that today!...

poor little "fat" girl
Posted Tuesday, September 11, at 1:42 PM

Ok, we have all seen or heard about how Britney Spears botched her "come back." Yes, it was bad, yes, I think she probably had three too many margaritas before she went on stage and yes, the poor girl's entire life and career is in shambles. However, to say that she is fat? I have to disagree with that one...

Falling for Fall
Posted Monday, September 10, at 12:48 PM

I am starting to feel fall in the air. Normally, I do not like fall. The falling leaves and bare trees make me sad. It makes me sad for the long summer days, warm weather, and flowers. However, this year, I do feel a bit different about the seasons change. ...

To knit or knot.
Posted Thursday, September 6, at 9:29 AM

I have a new hobby. I am trying to learn how to knit. Knitting is hard! My sister in law and I have been discussing new things that we would like to learn. We talked about sewing, but she could not figure out how to use her sewing machine. I was going to buy my own, but since she had so many problems, I just gave up on that idea. ...

We are blogged
Posted Wednesday, September 5, at 9:49 AM

This whole blogging world is just about as small as the real world! As I was going to my list of blogs that I read every morning, I arrived at the blog of the photographer that we hired to do a family portrait at the beach. To my surprise, they had blogged about us! It was a great experience and the pictures were better than we ever could've imagined. If you're interested in seeing some of our picture, visit this link. You will have to scroll down a bit until you see "The Graves Family"...

Appreciated Prayers
Posted Thursday, August 23, at 9:53 PM

Hello Everyone, This entry will be a short one, but pretty important to me. A group from my church, Fair Haven Baptist, is on a mission trip to Kenya. They are there overseeing a few water wells and a church that is being built for the people of Homa Bay...

The internet
Posted Tuesday, August 21, at 7:45 AM

Isn't modern technology super? As I type this, I am sitting outside watching my daughter swim. Today I entered the world of wireless internet. With this, I have internet access basically anywhere. I have to admit, I am spoiled by most of what communication technology has to offer. It's prpbably a sad thing that I feel naked without my cell phone. And that I have to check my email, myspace, and news numerous times throughout the day. I love being "connected!"...

Vacation
Posted Monday, August 20, at 8:00 AM

Sorry for the absense last week, but it was family vacation time! I went to Panama City with my husband, my daughter, my husbands parents, and their big dog, Lucky. I was a little worried about going to Florida this year because we all rode together in our van...Yes, I was in the car for 7 hours with my in-laws, a 100 lb. dog and a 2 year old! But, you know what, it wasn't that bad...

I can smell it in the air! Ladies and Gentlemen, the horses are a commin'! Since I was a very little girl, I have always been an attendant of the Celebration. I guess it's kind of in my blood now. My dad has been involved in the show for about as long as I can remember. ...
