Whew!
After that last blog, I am ready to talk about something a bit happier. I sure didn't mean to get everyone in such a tizzy! I guess that's the beauty of a blog though.
Ok ok, on to bigger and better things. Today, I want to tell you about a place that I love. I don't get to go often because it's in Franklin and schedules don't always mesh. It is also a bit on the expensive side, yet completely worth every dime. It's The Viking Cooking School. Viking offers all kinds of class that interest just about every taste out there. They range from Southern foods, French, Grilling, knife skills, all the way to Japanese and desserts. It's pretty much like being in the middle of the Food Network. So far, I have only taken a Japanese Steak House class and Advanced Cake decorating. In May, my dad and I are going to celebrate his birthday with a sushi workshop. Most, but not all of the classes are hands on. The Japanese steak house class was conducted in a large cooking "theatre." A group or 7 of us sat around a large counter with a hibachi grill in front of us. The chef taught us how to make the ginger dressing for the salad, that fantastic fried rice, Kobe steak, grilled vegetables and all of the dipping sauces. Not only did we learn how to make the meal, but we got to eat it too! That class would be perfect for a date night. The Advanced cake decorating class was held in my dream kitchen. That part feels like Food Network. You get to work in such a nice kitchen with everything at arms reach. I have to say that the absolute best part did not have to clean up after myself! It's really a great experience. If you have a little time and would like to learn more about gourmet cooking, I highly recommend taking a class. Kids are not welcome Let's talk about customer service. Today is my husband's birthday. We made plans and reservations to go out to eat and celebrate. Darrell chose to eat at the new Walking Horse Hotel in Wartrace because we had heard such good things about their food and atmosphere. Yesterday, I called and made reservations for five and assumed that we were all set...
Friday Confessions I found this topic on a babycenter message board. I thought it was a cute idea, so I decided to copy them and make it my own. It's about confessions. You know those silly little things that you do that you really don't want anyone to know about? Well, it's time to hang your funny laundry out for all to see. I'll go first...
Round 2 I guess it's time to come out of the closet... I am 7 weeks pregnant and I have a 3 year old. I think I might be going out of my mind! Now, don't get me wrong, I love love love my baby girl, but morning sickenss, exhaustion, and a VERY inquisitve 3 year old can really make a momma feel a little crazy!...
Family trip to Whoville Over the weekend, my husband and I took our daughter to Opryland to see the Grinch who stole Christmas ice sculpture display. It was a brave mission to complete since it was a Saturday and Saturdays tend to be the busiest day at the Ice exhibit. I'm not too sure that Darrell was as excited as I was. ...
Thanksgiving miracle On this Thanksgiving, I am thankful that Ava has used the potty 15 times since last night. In case you have missed previous blogs, we have been potty training for a really long time. For some reason, the little potty light bulb in her head clicked on yesterday. For that, I am thankful!...
UGH!!!!! If you just so happen to be in our neighborhood, whatever you do, DON'T STOP AT OUR HOUSE! We have this horrendous cold/bronchitis/sore throat/PINK EYE catastrophe going on in our bodies. Last week, our daughter was the sickest little girl that I have ever seen. My poor little monkey couldn't even take her medicine without it coming right back up. I was very thankful for the doctor that gave her a shot. It was almost instant that she was back to her old playful self...
Labor of Love I know I know...I am a horrible blogger. It seems that time to sit down at the computer is few and far between. I promise to do better. Today I want to show you the result of my latest craft binge, decorated cookies. I have been playing with the idea of starting a small cookie/cake business. It actually all started about 2 years ago, but a husband and 2 1/2 year old really does not allow much energy to jump into a business. Especially a business that requires a major mess in the kitchen!...
Willie v/s the Dalai Lama I know I know...It's been a while. October has proven to be a busy month for our family. At this very moment, I am wedged in the backseat of our van. We are on our way home from a short trip to Atlanta. We went to Atlanta because of a commercial real estate conference. ...
Lifehouse I just wanted to remind everyone about Lifehouse.
It's October 23-25, 27-30
If you miss it, you're missing a true blessing. Possibly a blessing that might change your life forever!
It's free!
