I have a confession to make...
I have a crazy addiction to Celebrity gossip... Judge me if you must. I love to read those celeb. trash magazines! Better than the magazines is the websites! I love love love the websites! You can get that VERY IMPORTANT information much faster than waiting for it to come out in a weekly magazine! I don't know about you, but I need to know what Brittany has done now. I need to know about that temper tantrum she threw at a photo shoot or How she managed to severly embarass herself at Club Le Deux. Better than that, Where is Lindsay Lohan? Is she in rehab or at her crazy mother's house in New York? Is she going to jail or is she going to get the star treatment? It's all sad. It's sad that these poor young girl's lives are spiraling into a mess that they should really know nothing about. What's worse than that is that I want to know about it. It's all gossip. We love gossip. (Well, most of us) I know it's wrong, but I guess when it comes to someone that has put themselves in the spotlight and wants photograpers to follow them around, it becomes acceptable. No news is bad news to these people. If we aren't reading about them or watching them on the news, they are on the road to being forgotten. I'm just doing my part to feed their egos. HAHA!! It is because the media is owned by four large corporations, most of which have huge interest in the war (by interest i mean LOTS of money invested)... So it is their way to desensitize Americans from the important things that are real issues...
BUT, I have to admit it is hilarious to watch these people just get on that road to being forgotten but it also makes any turn-around success story all the more unbelievable. There are Millions of people who act stupid, they just don't have cameras following them around 24/7. Lindsay, if she does not calm down, will end up dead (Like River Pheonix)... Britney will lose complete custody of her kids, etc...
I feel for them, not because they act stupid all the time, but because since we have this obsession (and I am guilty, but I don't get updates until the news breaks comes on, I don't visit either of those paparazzi sites) WHICH makes MILLIONS of dollars for the media, that is what we will continue to see. That along with horror stories of 100 people dying in Iraq a day, by "suicide bombers" or "insurgents"...
I am guilty too :( I have a pocket pc and have my favorite sites as well (people.com) that I browse when I am in line somewhere or just bored. I also love usatoday.com because you can blog there about the gossipy stories :)
Speaking of Gossip Did you see where OJ is back in the news again.
